The Southmedic™ Endotracheal Tube Protector, or Bite Block, is designed to fit multiple sizes of endotracheal tubes (ET Tubes). An ET Tube is a catheter inserted into the trachea through the mouth or nose used to maintain an open air passage to deliver oxygen or permit suctioning of mucus or to prevent aspiration of the stomach contents. Southmedic™ Bite Block is made from a non PVC environmentally friendly material that is soft enough to protect teeth and yet extremely durable to protect the ET Tube. Attached to the Bite Block is a slip-security ring that fits over the standard ET Tube 15 mm adaptor. This, along with an adjustable tie-wrap ensures the Bite Block stays in place.
